1857. It is a Catholic school run independently of the Dioceses of
Buffalo. It has a Montessori division accepting co-ed students from
ages 3 up to 3rd grade; a traditional elementary school accepting
co-ed students from 1st to 8th grade; and a high school division
which is women only. The high school is the original division.
The mission of Ernestine Nardin was to educate Buffalo's Catholic
females in a progressive way so that they could become leaders,
professionals, laborers, or anything else possible. In some ways,
this school is of the earliest feminist traditions.
